Belfast Linen Blend is April's Yarn of the Month

Posted by Lisa Krack on

Well, it's another month, which means another yarn to feature! For this month of unpredictable weather, warm days, and cold nights, wet spells and unshaded sunshine we're showcasing Kraemer Yarn's Belfast.

Belfast is mostly a cotton and linen blend, there are a few other fibers thrown in there - like silk. It's a DK weight (3) yarn that comes packaged in a 3.5oz/100g/200 yd center-pull skein. The tweedy colors are muted, on the neutral side, but far from drab or boring. Linen gets softer with wear/use, and so does this yarn. It also has nice drape and stitch definition. And, don't forget, as a Kraemer yarn, it's made right here in PA!

You may recognize this yarn - Lisa used it to make the Irish Waves Sweater in the shop. This fun crochet pattern is worked from the center outwards! Click on the link for the pattern on Kraemer's Website; photo below (c) Kraemer Yarns.

It's a great yarn for Spring layers - shawls, cardigans, lighter weight sweaters and tops, hats, scarves, you name it. I'm thinking of making a loosely knit sweater out of it, it would be great around a fire or at the beach when the nights are chilly.

As the yarn of the month, Belfast is on sale - 20% off - in April! Stop in and check it out. It's also listed on our website, if you aren't local and need it shipped or would prefer to do a store-pickup. Use promo code "YOMApril21" to get the Yarn of the Month discount when shopping our website.
